T1D DATA & SAMPLES available for RESEARCH USE
INNODIA hosts longitudinal data and biological samples collected from individuals newly diagnosed (ND) with Stage 3 T1D (monitored for up to 2 years) and from unaffected family members (UFM) tested for IAb and monitored after IAb detection. These data and samples were gathered as part of the EU-funded INNODIA projects under Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI2) Joint Undertaking (2015–2024). INNODIA – the non-profit international organization that evolved from the EU-funded INNODIA Projects - has been granted a license to use and share this data exclusively for research purposes (click here to see full list of the Data Licensors).

PBMCs from some of the donors are also available. If you are interested, please contact us at data@innodia.org. Please note that samples (including PBMCs) will only be shipped to EU countries and cannot be forwarded or reshipped outside of Europe from the recipients countries.
ARE YOU INTERESTED in GETTING ACCESS to this PRECIOUS INFORMATION and MATERIAL?
Learn how
If you are interested in accessing this data and/or the samples with annexed data, your request needs to be approved by the Data Access Committee (DAC).
The DAC is a decision-making body composed of representatives of the Data Licensors from the past EU-funded INNODIA projects (list of licensors). DAC is responsible for evaluating and approving/refusing all requests for access to the data to ensure that data use aligns with the research use of the license and safeguards the rights of data subjects. DAC approval is mandatory as it is the adherence to the INNODIA Publication Policy.
To request access to the data and/or the samples with annexed data, please complete the INNODIA Data & Samples Access Request Form and email it to: data@innodia.org
You will receive feedback from the DAC outcome within 15 working days. If needed, DAC may request additional information to complete the assessment.
Should the DAC grant data access, INNODIA will work with the Data Requestor to finalize the Data Use Agreement, the MTA (if samples are requested), and cost coverage.
Once all necessary documents are signed, the Data Requestor will become a Data User.
ARE YOU AN APPROVED INNODIA DATA USER?
What's next?
Data Users will:
- Receive access to see the granted data in a dedicated space in the INNODIA Data Lake, where all data are stored.
- Use the Data Lake as a “viewer” digital space (Read-only access).
- Analyze the data by picking a virtual private machine (the INNODIA virtual PC) selected by the size of the data that needs to be analyzed.
- Work online in the INNODIA virtual PC to generate results using JupyterLab notebooks.
(Costs depend on usage time and data size. Results cannot be stored on the virtual INNODIA PC but need to be transferred once generated)
- Transfer the results either to a local server or a dedicated space in the INNODIA Data Lake.
(Costs depend on storage time and result size)
Samples will be shipped directly from the Biobank.
